CONSTANCE KOO is an orchestral, chamber, and solo artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Constance performs with a variety of ensembles throughout Northern California including the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, Livermore Symphony, California Symphony, and is harpist for the vibrant chamber ensemble Trio Organica. During her conservatory training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Constance played throughout the Midwest with the Youngstown Symphony, Cleveland and Erie Philharmonics, and Richmond (IN) Symphony, and has performed under the direction of conductors including Michael Stern, Leonard Slatkin, and the late Marvin Hamlisch. In addition to live ensemble performance, she has been the recording harpist for film and game scores at Skywalker Ranch Sound, is the preferred harpist for The Fairmont Hotel & Resort San Jose, and is in regular demand for performing at private events. Off the concert stage, Constance is equally passionate about building relationships with others and sharing the harp and her music with the community, performing in churches, schools, for the elderly, and even Whole Foods Market!

Most recently, Constance served as principal harp for Lorin and Dietlinde Maazel’s Castleton Festival and is the current harp faculty of Valley Christian School Conservatory. Constance has been a featured artist on American Public Radio and the Maine Public Broadcasting Network, is a 2011 and 2009 recipient of the Alice Chalifoux Prize in harp, and the 2005 recipient of the Fannie Kopald Stein Memorial Award in music. In recent past summers, Constance has performed in music festivals throughout the United States including the Roundtop International Festival, Pierre Monteux School, and the National Orchestral Institute. She trained under Grammy-nominated solo and recording artist Yolanda Kondonassis at the Cleveland Institute of Music and is a former pupil of Agnes Lee, San Francisco Symphony's Douglas Rioth, and world-renowned harpist Judy Loman of Toronto, Canada.
